YEREVAN, February 18. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has departed for the United States, the government press service reported.

On February 19, he will attend the first meeting of the Board of Peace in Washington.

Armenia signed the charter of the "Board of Peace" on a fee-free basis.

US President Donald Trump announced the creation of the Peace Council on January 16, 2026. The establishment of this organization is envisaged in the American leader's peace plan for Gaza and includes the deployment of international forces.

The purpose of the Board as an international organization is to promote stability, ensure peace, and restore "credible and legitimate" governance in regions where conflicts have occurred or remain at risk.
