YEREVAN, March 31. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Satu Koivu, the new head of the European Union Civilian Mission to Armenia (EUMA), the government press service reported.

Pashinyan noted the importance of the EUMA's activities in Armenia, noting the dynamic development of Armenia-EU relations and the EU's consistent support for democratic institutions in the country.

Koivu, in turn, presented the activities of the EUMA and expressed confidence in continuing close cooperation and active dialogue with the Armenian government.

According to the statement, the parties discussed the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as ensuring regional stability.

Satu Koivu replaces Markus Ritter as head of EUMA, who left his post in February 2026.

Prior to her appointment as Head of EUMA, she served as Director of Human Resources at the Finnish National Police Board in Espoo. Koivu is a senior Finnish police officer with over 35 years of national and international experience, gaining extensive international experience in leadership positions in UN and EU missions in the Palestinian Territories, Rwanda, Namibia, and Cyprus.
