YEREVAN, February 11. /ARKA/. The Azerbaijani side confirmed that Armenian businesses and economic entities can use the Azerbaijani railway for exports, stated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
"I think this is a very important and, in a certain sense, historical record, because from the 1990s until last year, this was the first time a train entered the territory of the Republic of Armenia through Azerbaijan. Now it's through Georgia, and in the future, after the implementation of railway projects, highways will also open," Pashinyan said in an interview with Armenian Public Television.
According to him, rail service through Azerbaijan to Armenia is currently operating unimpeded.
The Prime Minister emphasized that "it is very important to confirm" that rail service from Armenia to the outside world through Azerbaijan is also open.
"I have a feeling our businesses haven't fully grasped this news yet, because, in my opinion, our businesses should already be thinking about exports," Pashinyan noted.
He added that further developments are expected in the near future, and that work is underway on the details.
