Pashinyan: Armenia to continue EAEU cooperation while seeking to remove export barriers
YEREVAN, October 2. /ARKA/. Armenia has repeatedly reaffirmed its commitment to continuing mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of the EAEU, stated Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

"This cooperation aims to strengthen economic stability and ensure the sustainable development of the broader region. I am confident that today's meeting will provide another opportunity for an open and constructive exchange of views on pressing issues," Pashinyan noted while speaking on Friday at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council held via videoconference.

On the "Crossroads of Peace" and TRIPP projects

The Prime Minister stated that Armenia is consistently advancing an agenda of peace and trade-transport connectivity in the region.

"As has been noted repeatedly, the Armenian 'Crossroads of Peace' initiative aims to create new opportunities through the development of transport, energy, and digital connectivity. One of the key components of the 'Crossroads of Peace' is TRIPP. The TRIPP project will establish a direct railway link between Armenia and Azerbaijan. At the same time, the project will enable Armenia's integration into the international railway network and create the possibility of establishing a railway connection between the Persian Gulf and the Black Sea," Pashinyan said.

The Prime Minister stated that this would be a landmark event in the sphere of transport links—a transformative development for Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Iran. "During the restricted-format meeting, I briefed my colleagues on certain nuances regarding the process of unblocking regional transport links—a process resulting from the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan," Pashinyan emphasized.

He expressed hope that decisions would be adopted that would, among other things, enhance the efficiency of the Republic of Armenia's railway system. "Undoubtedly, ensuring the free movement of goods, services, capital, and labor is the foundation for the full functioning of the EAEU common market. At the same time, the practical implementation of these principles continues to require our special attention," the Armenian Prime Minister noted.

On restrictions regarding the export of Armenian products

The Prime Minister noted with regret that, since his previous participation in the Intergovernmental Council meeting in Cholpon-Ata, no significant progress had been achieved on a number of outstanding issues.

"In particular, restrictions and administrative barriers persist, significantly hindering the full and effective functioning of the common market. In this regard, we consider it important to continue a constructive dialogue aimed at removing existing obstacles to the export and transit of Armenian products, in accordance with EAEU law," Pashinyan concluded.

Pashinyan expressed confidence that consistent progress in this direction serves the interests of all EAEU member states by ensuring stable trade flows, predictable conditions for market participants, and the further strengthening of economic cooperation.
