YEREVAN, April 2. /ARKA/. Armenia is transporting freight by rail with Russia for the first time since independence, said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
"Our relations with the Russian Federation are very deep, very important for us, and, in my opinion, are developing dynamically in the context of the new realities that have emerged in our region, now that peace has finally been established between Armenia and Azerbaijan. And I believe this has a positive impact on our relations with Russia, because for the first time since independence, we have rail service with the Russian Federation," Pashinyan said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin on April 1.
According to him, Armenia imports goods from Russia by rail through Azerbaijan.
"I think we will also begin exporting in the near future. This, of course, strengthens our traditional economic ties and cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union," Pashinyan emphasized.
