Over 70% of Armenian citizens surveyed are satisfied with the Armed Forces - IRI
YEREVAN, July 22. /ARKA/.Some 43% of respondents of a public opinion survey in Armenia said they were “completely satisfied” with the Armed Forces. This is evidenced by the findings of the survey conducted by the International Republican Institute (IRI).
Some 29% of respondents said they were “rather satisfied” with the work of the army, 11% were “rather dissatisfied,” 13% were “completely dissatisfied,” and 4% found it difficult to answer.
The Armenian Apostolic Church is in second place in this rating: it is supported by 34% of respondents, 24% are “rather satisfied,” 11% are “rather dissatisfied,” 24% are “completely dissatisfied,” and 6% found it difficult to answer.
The Ombudsman’s Office and the Prime Minister’s Office received only 15% support each. The outsider of the rating was the Armenian parliament - only 7% of respondents trust it.
The survey was conducted on behalf of the International Republican Institute’s Center for Insights in Survey Research by Breavis. Data was collected via telephone (CATI) administered interviews throughout Armenia between June 16 and 26, 2025.
The sample consisted of 1,505 resident citizens of Armenia and forcibly displaced former residents of Nagorno Karabakh who are now residing in Armenia (who may or may not be citizens.) The achieved sample was weighted for age, gender, regions, and urbanicity according to the 2023 Yearbook of the Statistical Committee of Armenia, as well as to the midpoint between the 2022 census data (for those aged 18+) and the achieved sample’s education level. The margin of error does not exceed plus or minus 2.5 percentage points for the full sample. The response rate was 25 percent.-0-
