Over 300 Armenian citizens have returned from abroad amid the escalation in the Middle East - MFA

Over 300 Armenian citizens, forced to remain abroad due to the escalation in the Middle East, have returned to Armenia from the UAE, India, and Japan, according to Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan.

YEREVAN, March 6. /ARKA/. Over 300 Armenian citizens, forced to remain abroad due to the escalation in the Middle East, have returned to Armenia from the UAE, India, and Japan, according to Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan.

UAE

197 people arrived in Armenia from the UAE on two FlyDubai flights on March 4-5. Another 45 Armenian citizens are scheduled to return on today's flight.

India

Late yesterday evening, 104 Armenian citizens arrived in Yerevan from the Indian state of Goa. Among them were participants of the Seaside Startup Summit and a travel group from Vardan Travel.

According to the MFA, 12 Armenian citizens in Sri Lanka and six in Goa have also contacted the Armenian Embassy in New Delhi. The embassy maintains daily contact with them and, if necessary, offers possible exit routes.

Japan

Six Armenian citizens stranded in Japan have left the country. Two of them are students at the University of Tsukuba; the university provided them with accommodation before their departure.

They departed via the following routes: Japan-Uzbekistan-Georgia-Armenia and Japan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-Russia.

Four more Armenian citizens, including two members of the Board of the Central Bank of Armenia, have already arrived in Yerevan on a flight traveling from Japan to China to Georgia to Armenia.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there are currently no Armenian citizens stranded in Japan.

Maldives

In addition, two Armenian citizens currently in the Maldives have contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for advice. They have been provided with possible return options.

On the situation around Iran

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran. According to statements from both sides, its goal is to strike the country's missile infrastructure, naval forces, and nuclear facilities.
