OSCE Minsk group co-chair positive about St. Petersburg meeting

In comments on the June 20 meeting of Armenia, Azerbaijani and Russian presidents in the Russian St. Peterbsurg over the Nagorno-Karabakh problem, the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair from the United States James Warlick said: "Today’s summit in St. Petersburg including a joint statement are positive steps on the Nagorno-Karabakh peace. We must work towards a negotiated settlement."

YEREVAN, June 21, /ARKA/. In comments on the June 20 meeting of Armenia, Azerbaijani and Russian presidents in the Russian St. Peterbsurg over the Nagorno-Karabakh problem, the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair from the United States James Warlick said: "Today’s summit in St. Petersburg including a joint statement are positive steps on the Nagorno-Karabakh peace. We must work towards a negotiated settlement."
In a joint statement issued after the meeting Armenia’s and Azerbaijan’s presidents said they reached an “understanding” on issues hampering the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and pledged to prevent ceasefire violations.
“There was a detailed exchange of views on essential aspects of the settlement,” reads the statement. “The heads of state noted the reaching of understanding on a number of issues solutions to which would help to create conditions for progress in the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement.”
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters that they “mapped out concrete steps to intensify the negotiation process. -0-
