YEREVAN, April 19. /ARKA/. An extra-parliamentary Armenian opposition party called "5165" has announced today it is joining a movement that is seeking to topple Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and save Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), which they claim Pashinyan is preparing to hand over to Azerbaijan.

The head of the party Karin Tonoyan said the party is suspending its activity to join the movement and help bring Armenia out of this crisis. She called on other parties to follow their example.

Supporters of the opposition movement will hold today a "Red Ribbon March." They urged other fellow citizens to wear them in protest against Pashinyan and his administration. Starting tomorrow, protests with red ribbons will begin in Armenia's main universities.

On November 29, 2021 the ‘5165" party withdrew from the Liberation Movement to pursue its own struggle against the incumbent Armenian government headed by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

On Sunday, Armenian parliamentary and extra-parliamentary opposition forces launched fresh street protests in a bid to make Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan step down, and prevent ‘unacceptable’ concessions to Azerbaijan.

Artur Vanetsyan, the head of Pativ Unem parliamentary faction and a group of loyalists began a nonstop sit-in in Yerevan’s Liberty Square. -0-
