YEREVAN, February 6. /ARKA/. Russia is ready to discuss its participation in the Armenian-American project "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP). Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin stated this in an interview with Rossiya 24.
According to the diplomat, Russia is closely monitoring developments around the Trump Route initiative, the specific practical details of which are only just beginning to emerge.
"We are ready to discuss the possibility of joining this initiative, taking into account, among other things, the very close cooperation between Russia and Armenia in maintaining and developing the railway sector in the Republic of Armenia through a concession," Kopyrkin said.
The diplomat clarified that Russia was at the forefront of the process of unblocking cross-border communications between Armenia and Azerbaijan and, in general, normalizing relations between the countries.
"We believe that cooperation in the transport sector as a whole, in terms of normalization, should develop on a mutually beneficial and equitable basis and, of course, take into account the interests of all interested countries in the region and their neighbors," the Russian ambassador added.
