There is a high risk of a new conflict escalation by Azerbaijan, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said today at the launch of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Armenia 2023-2026.

YEREVAN, February 16. /ARKA/. There is a high risk of a new conflict escalation by Azerbaijan, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said today at the launch of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Armenia 2023-2026.

"We live in a region full of many security threats. The humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of Azerbaijan's blockade of the Lachin corridor has been going on for more than two months. Azerbaijan continues to hold Armenian prisoners of war and civilians hostage, and the fates of many missing and forcibly disappeared people remain unclear," Mirzoyan said.

He pointed out that as a result of Azerbaijan's aggressive actions in May and November 2021 and September 2022, Armenia's sovereign territories appeared under occupation. -0-
