In Washington on Friday, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov signed the “Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Inter-State Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan” in the presence of the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the United States.

YEREVAN, August 9я /ARKA/. In Washington on Friday, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov signed the “Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Inter-State Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan” in the presence of the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the United States.

According to the agreement with Azerbaijan, the initialed text will be published Monday evening, August 11.

The ministers also signed a joint statement to the OSCE regarding the completion of the OSCE Minsk Group's work and that of its related structures.

In his statement, Minister Mirzoyan noted: "This is truly a historic moment for peace. It is a significant and symbolic day for the Republic of Armenia, the region, and the world. Today, we also proclaim strong ties, prosperity, and a bright future for our generations.”

Following the August 8 trilateral meeting in Washington between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, a declaration was signed.

The document consists of seven points. In particular, it declares the initialing of the agreed text of the Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Inter-State Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan by the foreign ministers of the parties, as well as the need to continue actions for its signing and ratification. It also declares the signing of a statement by the foreign ministers of both countries on the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Process and related structures.

It also calls for efforts to ensure unimpeded communication between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan through Armenia's territory, based on respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and jurisdiction of states. Additionally, it mentions Armenia's cooperation with the United States and other countries to define the framework for implementing the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity project within Armenia's borders.-0-
