YEREVAN, March 26. /ARKA/. Eight Armenian citizens returned to their homeland from Israel on Thursday due to the situation in the Middle East, said RA Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan.

"Since February 28, ten Armenian citizens who were in Israel have requested assistance in returning to Armenia. A special bus route organized by the RA Embassy in Israel transported the eight citizens to Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, from where they took a direct flight to Yerevan," Badalyan wrote on her Facebook page.

According to her, two more Armenian citizens have expressed their intention to return to their homeland after completing their contractual obligations.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan announced that over 1,500 Armenian citizens have returned to their homeland due to the escalation in the Middle East.
