Leaving EAEU is not Armenia's goal, but EU membership is - Prime Minister
YEREVAN, December 11. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that "leaving the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is not Armenia's goal, but EU membership is."
"We understand that simultaneous membership in the Eurasian Economic Union and the EU is impossible, and we understand that the moment will come when we will need to make a decision. But today is not that moment. There is no need to make such a decision today, and if not, then why make it?" the prime minister told reporters in Hamburg. His words are quoted by Armenian Public Television.
He noted that Armenia is deepening relations with the EU, adding that he will travel from Hamburg to Moscow.
"Is there an incompatibility now or not? Obviously not, because both are happening in reality. When the moment comes when we realize there is an incompatibility, then we will consider what decision to make. And we will make a decision that will be based on the national interests of the Republic of Armenia," the Armenian prime minister stated.-0-
