Leader of Sasna Tsrer insurgents wounded in his leg

The police say they were wounded in exchange fire.
Ashot Aharonyan, spokesman of the Armenia’s police department, says on his Facebook page that two members of the armed group – Gagik Yeghiazaryan and Aram Hakobyan surrendered.
Other two wounded members are still in the territory of the seized police regiment.
In his words, the police are trying to persuade them to receive medical assistance, but friends of the wounded men rejected their offer.
However, there is also a statement released by Sasna Tsrer insurgents, according to which the police attacked the regiment territory, wounded Pavel Manukyan, his son Aram Manukyan, Gevorg Iritsyan and maybe other members of the group.
Sasna Tsrer men say in their statement that the police abducted the Manukyans as well as Gagik Yeghiazaryan and another member of the group.
Hrutyun Mangoyan, head of the intensive care division of Erebuni Medical Center, said Pavel and Aram are in critical, but stable condition.
In his words, there is also one policeman with a moderate wound in his leg.
Sasna Tsrer stormed the police regiment territory on July 17 and took some officers hostage, demanding the release of Zhirayr Sefilian, the jailed opposition leader of Founding Parliament movement, and the resignation of the president.
According to the police, one police officer had been killed and five others and one attacker wounded in the assault.
Two top police officials, Armenian Deputy Police Chief Vardan Egiazaryan and Yerevan Deputy Police Chief Valeri Osipyan, were among the hostages.
Hundreds of people gathered outside the territory to bar the law enforcement units from storming the building and to prevent а bloody outcome.
The police units cleaned up the territory of demonstrators Wednesday night and detained dozens of people.
As many as 51 people injured in the clashes, including 28 policemen, received medical services that night. On the next day people gathered again.
All the hostages have gradually been released by the rebels.
On Monday and Tuesday, thousands of people in Yerevan took to the streets and marched demanding the release of Zhirair Sefilian and the resignation of the president. --0----
