The government of Artsakh Republic (Nagorno-Karabakh) resigned today after president Bako Sahakyan was inaugurated for the third term.
YEREVAN, September 7. /ARKA/. The government of Artsakh Republic (Nagorno-Karabakh) resigned today after president Bako Sahakyan was inaugurated for the third term. The resignation of the government is provided for by article 169 of the Artsakh Constitution. Bako Sahakyan signed a decree on the same day to accept the resignation of the government.
According to the decree, members of the government will continue to fulfill their duties until the formation of a new government.
The inauguration ceremony was held on Thursday during a special meeting of the National Assembly. Bako Sahakyan took the oath in accordance with the procedure established by the Constitution and took office as head of state.
The National Assembly of Nagorno Karabakh re-elected Saakyan on July 19 for a three-year transition period in accordance with the new constitution adopted on February 20, providing for a transition from semi-presidential to presidential form of government.
