YEREVAN, August 9. /ARKA/. The initialing of the peace agreement will pave the way for ending the decades-long conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan and will open a new era based on full respect for each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity, said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

"Today, we have reached an important milestone in Armenia-Azerbaijan relations: we are laying the foundations for a better history than in the past," he said Friday at a trilateral meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the White House.

Pashinyan stressed that this turning point in progress simply would not have been possible without President Trump's personal engagement and his strong commitment to peace in the region.

"Today's declarations, which will also be signed personally by President Trump, inspire confidence and provide guarantees that we are opening a page of peace, prosperity, security and economic cooperation in the South Caucasus," Pashinyan said.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, US and Azerbaijani Presidents Donald Trump and Ilham Aliyev signed the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) Declaration in Washington on August 8. Trump signed as a witness, and Pashinyan and Aliyev confirmed their desire for peace, prosperity and stability with their signatures.
