YEREVAN, March 18. /ARKA/. The housing certificate amount for displaced persons from Karabakh in communities adjacent to Yerevan will be increased from 3 million to 4 million drams, announced Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
According to him, the corresponding decision will be made soon. "For communities adjacent to Yerevan, where the current limit is 3 million drams, we will increase it to 4 million. This is our decision, and it will be formalized de jure in the near future," Pashinyan said at a conference dedicated to the problems of displaced persons from Karabakh.
He explained that this does not apply to Yerevan, as the authorities' goal is to focus housing programs as much as possible on the regions.
Pashinyan also announced that the increase would also apply to those who had already received certificates for 3 million drams. He stated that a decision is planned to be made within one to two months, after which recipients of previously issued certificates will be able to use the updated support amount when purchasing housing.
Armenian Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan, in turn, stated that the program would also cover the city of Abovyan in the Kotayk region, home to a large number of displaced persons from Karabakh.
Torosyan previously reported that, as of February 1, 2026, 4,404 families forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh in Armenia had received housing certificates, of which 1,932 families had already used them. In 2025, approximately 3 billion drams were allocated from the state budget for these purposes. ($1 = 377.39 drams).
