French Defense Minister to visit Armenia for the first time

YEREVAN, February 22. /ARKA/. French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu will soon pay an official visit to Armenia.

"I will soon leave for Armenia with a large delegation of French parliamentarians and manufacturers. This is the first time in history that a French Defense Minister will visit Armenia," Lecornu told RTL radio station.

According to him, Armenia faces serious challenges in ensuring its security, preserving its sovereignty and protecting its borders.

"The threats come from Azerbaijan. France has a responsibility in terms of supporting Armenia to help it build up its defense potential," Lecornu noted.

He said the weapons Armenia is buying from France are used exclusively for defense purposes. -0-
