Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Syria agreed to intensify political dialogue
YEREVAN, November 20. /ARKA/. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan engaged in a telephone conversation with his Syrian counterpart, Assad al-Shaibani, to discuss the advancement of bilateral relations.
The ministers reached a consensus on enhancing political dialogue and collaboration in areas of shared interest, including through reciprocal visits, as reported by the Armenian Foreign Ministry press service.
Mirzoyan highlighted that the historically amicable relations between Armenia and Syria, along with the bond between their peoples, provide a robust foundation for fostering cooperation.
The two officials pinpointed economic, investment, and humanitarian initiatives as sectors with significant development potential. In this regard, Mirzoyan expressed Armenia's willingness to persist in supporting humanitarian demining efforts in Syria.
Additionally, Mirzoyan and al-Shaibani deliberated on regional developments. The Syrian Foreign Minister extended his congratulations to his Armenian counterpart on the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, following the agreements reached in Washington on August 8. The ministers shared perspectives on actions being undertaken to further reinforce peace.-0-
