Dialogue between Armenia and Turkey has reached a level at which positive results are possible, said Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan at the Yerevan Dialogue international forum.
YEREVAN, May 6. /ARKA/. Dialogue between Armenia and Turkey has reached a level at which positive results are possible, said Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan at the Yerevan Dialogue international forum.
He called the dialogue with Turkey excellent, citing several examples of cooperation, including the signing of a memorandum by representatives of Armenia and Turkey on the joint restoration of the historic bridge in Ani.
Mirzoyan also reported that the third meeting of the working group dealing with the restoration of rail service between Armenia and Turkey on the Gyumri-Kars route was recently held.
"However, overall, the border remains closed. We expressed mutual readiness to establish diplomatic relations and interest in fully reopening the border. In the first stage, an agreement was reached to open the border to third-country nationals and diplomats, but as of today, the border remains closed," Mirzoyan said.
The minister added that some of the agreements reached are already being implemented, while others are being developed.
