EAEU Heads of Government Determine Development of Digital Labeling
YEREVAN, December 12. /ARKA/. The heads of government of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries have determined further development directions for the digital labeling system for goods, the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) reported.

"The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council considered the prospects for developing a system for labeling goods with identification tools in the Eurasian Economic Union," the statement read.

Based on the discussions at the EAEU Leaders' Summit in June 2025, key areas of work have been identified. These include integrating the labeling system with the EEC information platform and its technological development, strengthening control over the legality and safety of goods through integration with national control systems, and refining processes to ensure the free movement of labeled products within the union.

There are also plans to improve the EAEU information systems used for exchanging data on labeled goods, including order requests and the issuance of labeling codes. One important area will be the creation of unified mechanisms to prevent the labeling of goods with unverified import or production legitimacy, as well as products that do not comply with the Union's technical regulations.

"It can be concluded that the Union's system for labeling goods with identification tools is fully implemented. The next step will be further improvement of processes aimed at more effectively combating the circulation of counterfeit goods. To this end, it is essential to strengthen the role of the labeling system in monitoring product safety and legality upon entry into circulation," noted EEC Trade Minister Andrey Slepnev.
