The Bright Armenia Party, one of the three parties, which have won seats in the National Assembly in December 9 snap elections, has elected today party leader Edmon Marukyan as head of its faction.

YEREVAN, January 10. /ARKA/. The Bright Armenia Party, one of the three parties, which have won seats in the National Assembly in December 9 snap elections, has elected today party leader Edmon Marukyan as head of its faction.

The elected members of the parliament received today their mandates in a special ceremony. Gevorg Gorgisyan was elected as secretary of the faction and Maneh Tandilyan was nominated for the post of deputy speaker of parliament.

In December 9 early elections acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s My Step bloc won a sweeping victory with 884,864 or 70.42% of votes, Prosperous Armenia scored 103,801 votes or 8.26% and Bright Armenia 80,047 votes or 6.37%. My Step will control 88 seats in the National Assembly, Prosperous Armenia will have 26 members and Bright Armenia 18.

The first session of the new parliament is scheduled for January 14.-0-
