Artsakh State Minister says integration of Artsakh and Azerbaijanis impossible

YEREVAN, August 28. /ARKA/. Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) State Minister Gurgen Nersisyan considers that integration of Artsakh and Azerbaijanis is impossible.

"How can people who have been mutually killing each other for the last 30 years live together? In every family there are those who were killed in the war and there are relatives who are hungry for blood revenge," Nersisyan said in a video message.

According to him, from the first war (in 1990s) to the 44-day war (in 2020 autumn), several generations of Artsakh Armenians were involved in the defense of their homeland, and many Artsakh residents were wounded and became disabled during the fighting.

"Our heroes are considered criminals in Azerbaijan, while Azerbaijanis in Azerbaijan are honored with the title of national hero for killing an Armenian," Nersisyan said.

He emphasized that Azerbaijan has deliberately created a humanitarian crisis in Artsakh, constantly uses force and threatens to use it, obstructs farming, kills people, does not allow treatment of sick and at the same time speaks about the beginning of the peace process.

"All, including the international community, must realize that without improving the security atmosphere, without stopping genocidal actions against the people of Artsakh, negotiations around a settlement are impossible. This is objectively impossible, which is a proven fact. All the opposite steps are the promotion of Azerbaijan's genocidal actions, complicity and promotion of Azerbaijan's policy of evicting Armenians," Nersisyan said.

"Consequently, statements about peaceful coexistence are wrong and deceptive, such promises could have been convincing if instead of promises to kill and starve our people Azerbaijan and the world community would have started forming a safe environment, eliminating xenophobic statements, neutralizing instruments of pressure and evil," the Artsakh State Minister noted. --0--
