YEREVAN, December 14. /ARKA/. Artak Beglaryan, former Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) State Minister, who now serves as advisor to State Minister Ruben Vardanyan, has announced an open-ended sit-in in front of the UN office in Yerevan.

In a video message, he said Azerbaijan is holding 120,000 people, including his family, under blockade after blocking the only road that connects Artsakh and Armenia.

"Everyone should understand now that they have to do everything possible to protect Artsakh and prevent the risk of genocide. I believe we are already forced to go to unconventional and even aggressive actions to attract the attention of the international community, make demands and awaken the Armenian society," he said.

He said the UN and all related structures must clearly condemn the genocidal actions of Azerbaijan and terrorism against the people of Artsakh, the UN Security Council should discuss the issue and provide additional security guarantees for the people of Artsakh.

Also, the five permanent members of the UN Security Council (US, Russia, France, UK and China) and the European Union should condemn Azerbaijan's actions and take practical measures to curb further genocidal actions by Azerbaijan.

"I call on the Armenian people and society to put aside indifference and the sense of helplessness and understand that much depends on us. Let everyone raise problems with their actions and do everything possible to protect Artsakh," Beglaryan said. -0-
