YEREVAN, January 31. /ARKA/. Armenia’s prime minister Karen Karapetyan may be appointed to spearhead the election headquarters of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia ahead of the parliamentary elections, scheduled to take place in early April, a local daily ‘Hraparak’ (Square) says in its today’s issue.
The daily says although the formal head of the election headquarters of the ruling party will be President Serzh Sargsyan, Karapetyan, who in all likelihood will not be placed in the party’s electoral list because of failing to meet residential qualification, will be intensively agitating for the party. When the daily asked the government to confirm this, it said no such decision had been made yet.
The daily says also the head of the presidential administration Armen Gevorgyan and former head of the presidential Control Service Hovhannes Hovsepyan will be playing active role in the headquarters.-0-
