Armenian prime minister congratulates country fellows on Victory Day
YEREVAN, May 9. /ARKA/. Armenia’s newly-elected Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan congratulated today his country fellows on the Victory Day in WW II. In his statement he says that this victory opened new doors for the people of Armenia and new horizons for their creativity and development.

“All segments of the Armenian people gave the victory everything that could... With deep respect, we express our gratitude to our veterans," Pashinyan said. He noted that today is a double holiday for Armenians - the people are celebrating also the Shushi Liberation Day.

"This glorious victory was not just a military success. Thanks to it the Armenians of Artsakh survived the threat of destruction and gained the prospect for a peaceful life," Pashinyan said.

The Prime Minister stressed that he will not tolerate the trampling of the freedom of the individual and the nation, because the Armenian people have humanistic ideals, a freedom-loving spirit and a single will to protect these ideals.

He noted that the non-violent, popular, "velvet" revolution that has taken place in Armenia, embracing the entire nation is another indisputable proof that the Armenians have a clear idea of what freedom, democracy and peace are.

"Today the Armenian people in Armenia proper, Artsakh and the Diaspora are once again confident in their abilities, and the spirit of Shushi's liberation remains in our hearts and eyes. I have no doubt that the victorious spirit of the Armenian people, reinforced by recent events, will bring new successes to Armenia and Artsakh. The Armenian people confidently follow the path of realizing their dreams. Once again I congratulate all of us on this glorious holiday and I wish everyone a peaceful sky, a fair and productive work for the glory and prosperity of our people, "Pashinyan said.

The Armenian people celebrate on May 9 a triple holiday – the Victory Day in WW II, Shushi Liberation Day and the Day of Artsakh Army. -0-
