YEREVAN, July 11. /ARKA/. Armenian police will fine for misuses of the state flag, Deputy Justice Minister Armenuhi Harutyunyan said on Tuesday.

"This is meant to state the importance of the flag as a state symbol," Harutyunyan said at an extraordinary session of the National Assembly during debates on a relevant draft law.

In particular, the flag should be clean, and the cloth should not be torn, dilapidated and faded. It should be installed above ground level by at least 2.5 meters.

"Individuals and legal entities will be fined for violations in the amount of 30-50 thousand drams, while officials will be fined in the amount of 70-100 thousand drams," Harutyunyan said.

Flags on cars and in offices will not fall under these regulations. -0-
