YEREVAN, June 10. /ARKA/. Supporters of the opposition movement led by Archbishop Galstanyan seeking the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan have set up tents at the intersection of Baghramyan Avenue and Demirchyan Street in Yerevan after spending the night near the parliament building cordoned off by reinforced police units.
The situation periodically escalated during the night, with localized clashes and verbal altercations between police and protesters, including between Deputy Interior Minister and Police Chief Aram Hovhannisyan and Archbishop Bagrat.
Later, some of the protesters marched to Pashinian's residence on Proshyan Street, where they were also met by numerous law enforcement forces.
In the morning, the two groups united again in front of the parliament building. Currently, the intersection of Baghramyan Avenue and Demirchyan Street is blocked by the protesters, tents are set up there, and the situation is calm.
As previously reported by the National Front TG-Channel, Archbishop Bagrat called on his supporters to join the protesters who spent the night at the Baghramyan-Demirchyan intersection.
He also called for peaceful acts of disobedience both in Yerevan and in all regions of Armenia. -0-
