Armenian government approves ratification of customs assistance agreement with US

YEREVAN, August 29. /ARKA/. The Armenian government has approved the ratification of an agreement with the United States on mutual assistance between the customs authorities of the two countries during its Thursday session.

The agreement, signed in Yerevan on June 11, 2024, aims to establish a framework for cooperation and fully regulate bilateral relations between the customs services of Armenia and the United States.

The agreement sets the foundation for strengthening and expanding capabilities and mutually beneficial contacts in the customs sphere. It also outlines protocols for information exchange related to customs matters, enhancing administrative assistance between the two nations.

The ratification of this agreement addresses issues that arise in the exchange of information and the handling of requests between the customs services of Armenia and the U.S., which were previously complicated by the absence of an international document governing such requests.

Furthermore, the agreement is expected to facilitate rapid and effective responses to issues arising in the process of exporting and importing goods, ensuring more efficient customs operations between the two countries.
