Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister says Armenia-Georgia relations reach a new level

Relations between Armenia and Georgia have risen to a new level, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan said Monday.

YEREVAN, January 30. /ARKA/. Relations between Armenia and Georgia have risen to a new level, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan said Monday.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his Georgian counterpart Irakli Garibashvili (he resigned on Monday) signed January 26 a declaration on establishing strategic partnership between the two countries during Pashinyan’s visit to Georgia.

"The declaration will enable us to advance relations with Georgia and to consider Armenian-Georgian cooperation in the context of regional projects as well as EU programs," Kostanyan told Armenia’s Public Television.

Kostanyan emphasized the fact that Georgia is a candidate for EU membership both in terms of bilateral cooperation and for the region as a whole.

According to reports, Garibashvili will switch positions with Irakli Kobakhidze, ruling partyb Georgian Dream’s current chairman.-0-
