Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister meets France OSCE Minsk Group co-chairman, emphasizes need to send international fact-finding group to Nagorno-Karabakh
YEREVAN, March 6. /ARKA/ On March 6, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahe Gevorgyan received Brice Roquefeuil, the French co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, the Foreign Ministry reported.
It said during the meeting, regional security and stability issues were discussed. The sides exchanged views on the recent developments in the normalisation process of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.
The situation in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from Azerbaijan's illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor was touched upon. In this context, the importance of implementing the decision of the International Court of Justice regarding the request for provisional measures against Azerbaijan was highlighted.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasised the need to send an international fact-finding group to the Lachin corridor and Nagorno-Karabakh.
Vahe Gevorgyan also briefed his interlocutor on the details of the ambush carried out by Azerbaijan on March 5 in Nagorno-Karabakh, in which three Nagorno-Karabakh police officers were killed and another wounded.
According to Karabakh police, the officers’ were ambushed by an Azerbaijani “sabotage squad” as they rode in a car outside the capital Stepanakert. -0-
