Armenia to receive €33 million in grants from EU
YEREVAN, October 20. /ARKA/. The Armenian government approved two, 33 million euro grant agreements with the European Commission at today’s meeting.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, the grants will be used to finance two projects.
The first 10 million euro worth project includes formation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, reforming of the Patrol Service and the migration policy. Also, as part of the project, part of the grant will be provided for improvement of human rights protection.
The second project involves a grant of 23 million euros for inclusive and sustainable socio-economic reconstruction and development. In particular, the funds will be used to support the opening and rehabilitation of SMEs in Armenia’s southern province of Syunik.
Assistance will also be provided for the technical equipment of one-stop social assistance centers. Targeted assistance will be provided to integration and socio-psychological support for citizens displaced from Artsakh. -0-
