Armenia will ratify Protocol N13 of the European Convention on Human Rights on the complete abolition of the death penalty. A decision to this effect was made at a regular meeting of the government on Thursday.

YEREVAN, May 4. /ARKA/. Armenia will ratify Protocol N13 of the European Convention on Human Rights on the complete abolition of the death penalty. A decision to this effect was made at a regular meeting of the government on Thursday.

Armenia adopted Protocol 6 in 2003. Unlike the Protocol N13, it allows using the death penalty, but only in cases of committing grave war crimes. Three years later Armenia signed Protocol 13, but it has not yet been ratified. -0-
