Armenian Interior Ministry presents actions on visa liberalisation with EU for 2025
YEREVAN, January 8. /ARKA/. An action plan for visa liberalization with the EU will be presented in 2025, stated Armen Ghazaryan, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia.
"Two assessment missions, consisting of representatives from the European Commission and EU member states, are expected to visit Armenia in the first half of 2025," Ghazaryan said in an interview with Public Television of Armenia.
He explained that during the visit, the situation concerning the so-called "four blocks" of visa liberalization (document security, illegal migration, public order and security, foreign relations, and fundamental rights) will be assessed.
"Based on the results of these two missions' visits, by mid-2025, the European Commission will propose an action plan for visa liberalization, which will be developed through dialogue and meetings with us. After that, practical implementation will begin," Ghazaryan noted.
The EU-Armenia Visa Liberalization Dialogue was officially launched in September 2024, and work is ongoing on a new comprehensive document called the "New Partnership Agenda."
