Armenia Ratifies EAEU Trade Agreements with the UAE and Mongolia

At its session on Wednesday, the National Assembly of Armenia ratified the economic partnership agreement between the EAEU and the UAE, as well as the interim trade agreement between the EAEU and Mongolia.
YEREVAN, March 25. /ARKA/. At its session on Wednesday, the National Assembly of Armenia ratified the economic partnership agreement between the EAEU and the UAE, as well as the interim trade agreement between the EAEU and Mongolia.
RA Deputy Minister of Economy Narek Hovakimyan stated that the agreement between the EAEU and the UAE, signed in June 2025, aims to liberalize and simplify trade in goods, develop economic cooperation, and expand mutual trade.
He stated that after the agreement enters into force, 217 of the 270 goods exported from Armenia to the UAE will be granted preferential import treatment. According to him, the list of agricultural products includes fresh fruits (including strawberries), tomatoes, fruit juices, honey, jams, sweetened mineral water, live plants, apples, and apricots. The UAE market for these goods is estimated to be worth approximately $550 million.
"The industrial products include items such as aluminum sheets and alloys, medical devices, and electronic and broadcasting equipment. No customs duty will be paid on these products when exported from Armenia," Hovakimyan said.
Speaking about the interim trade agreement between the EAEU and Mongolia, Hovakimyan noted that it is aimed at simplifying and stimulating mutual trade.
"The agreement was signed in 2025 and regulates a wide range of economic cooperation issues, including customs regulations and sanitary and phytosanitary measures," he added.
