Armenia may begin exporting to Azerbaijan in 1-2 months – MP
YEREVAN, February 4. /ARKA/. According to Babken Tunyan, the deputy chairman of the parliamentary committee on economic issues, Armenia could initiate the export of goods to Azerbaijan within a month or two.
He mentioned that there is shared interest in several product categories.
"For instance, foil is under consideration, as it might be in demand there. This could also include certain food products," Tunyan informed reporters, while noting that he lacked specific details.
In mid-December 2025, a train consisting of 22 cars carrying 1,218 tons of A95 gasoline arrived in Armenia from Azerbaijan via Georgia by rail. Early in January, it was reported that 7,600 tons of Azerbaijani petroleum products (gasoline and diesel) were on their way.
The possibility of rail freight transport from Azerbaijan to Armenia was made feasible due to agreements established between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington on August 8, along with memoranda of understanding signed between the US and Armenian governments.-0-
