YEREVAN, August 15. /ARKA/. The Armenian side consistently advocates for compliance with the fundamental principles laid down in the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and expresses readiness for active interaction with the member states in the interests of developing economic cooperation. This was stated by RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan at a meeting of the EAEU Intergovernmental Council in Kyrgyzstan.

He noted that the further formation of common energy markets of the Eurasian Economic Union and ensuring energy security remain a priority for Armenia.

“The accelerated formation of common energy markets on non-discriminatory principles of operation should become one of the foundations for ensuring equal conditions for economic activity for all EAEU member states,” he said.

According to Grigoryan, significant work has been done through joint efforts to ensure the sustainable functioning of the common market for medicines and medical devices in the EAEU, thanks to which the common market for circulation of medicines will begin to function as early as next year.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that in order to optimize business processes and build integrated digital platforms within the EAEU, it is necessary to carry out coordinated work to improve electronic management systems and implement cybersecurity mechanisms.

He noted that the transport and logistics sector is also a key element of economic interaction.

"Diversification of transport infrastructure will give an additional impetus to both the export of goods to third countries and the growth of trade turnover in the EAEU. In this context, I consider it necessary to once again emphasize the importance of the regional infrastructure project “Crossroads of the World” that we initiated, which is aimed at creating reliable and interconnected transport routes that ensure sustainable regional development and strengthening economic ties between all interested states, based on full respect for the sovereignty, jurisdiction of states, as well as the principles of reciprocity,” Grigoryan said.
