YEREVAN, July 16. /ARKA/. If Armenia becomes a crossroads of international cargo transportation, these crossings through the territory of Armenia are significant security factors, said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Noting that some forces and people in Armenia are trying to present the relaunch of the railway through the country's territory as a tragedy, he said that the tragedy here is that there is no transit railway through the territory of Armenia.

"When it is repeatedly emphasized that the country's security depends on the army, this means that there is no security, and security must first depend on other factors," he said.

According to the prime minister, these theses are contained in the "Crossroads of Peace" project.

As the Armenian Foreign Ministry previously stated, Armenia has no unilateral obligations regarding the opening of regional economic and transport communications. A separate agenda of transport communication between the western regions of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan is part of a broader agenda of unblocking regional transport and economic ties, which also includes unblocking the Republic of Armenia.

Armenia proposed to launch Zangelan-Meghri-Ordubad-Yeraskh railway freight transportation at the first stage.

Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan confirmed the readiness to open all communications for Azerbaijan.
