YEREVAN, December 11. /ARКА/. Armenia places significant emphasis on broadening the scope of the EAEU's foreign economic relations, considering it a vital factor in further enhancing the Union's influence in the global economy, stated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

"The establishment of new free trade agreements not only boosts dialogue but also aids in improving the EAEU's competitiveness, creating new avenues for economic growth for our nations," he remarked while addressing the regular expanded meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Moscow.

Pashinyan pointed out that another crucial aspect of economic collaboration is the transport and logistics sector.  "Diversifying transport infrastructure can give a further boost to increasing trade turnover," the prime minister noted.

He also highlighted that the development of common energy resource markets is essential for ensuring equal and predictable conditions for all EAEU countries, stressing the importance of consistently progressing towards the establishment of fully operational common markets that guarantee effective interaction, transparency, and a balance of interests for all involved. "Simultaneously, it is vital to prioritize the domestic supply of EAEU member states over exports to external countries and to formulate unified strategies for implementing this principle," he added. According to the Armenian Prime Minister, in light of the high volatility of global food markets, the resilience of the agricultural systems in EAEU countries is particularly important for maintaining economic stability.

"Achieving tangible outcomes is directly linked to the execution of agreed practical measures, which include the systematic adoption of innovations, digital transformation, and the establishment and enhancement of effective financial support mechanisms for collaborative industrial and agro-industrial projects," he stated. In the context of executing the Roadmap for Creating Favorable Conditions for E-Commerce Development in the EAEU, Pashinyan urged that special attention be given in future stages to the coordination of digital solutions, ensuring that the technological approaches utilized by member states are compatible.

"This will aid in simplifying e-commerce processes and fostering sustainable development within the digital environment," he clarified. As part of the digitalization effort, the Armenian government leader highlighted the significance of implementing initiatives that support the digital transformation across various sectors, including customs and transportation. "Simultaneously, in the realm of cybersecurity, priority should be placed on developing joint information protection mechanisms, bolstering the resilience of critical infrastructure, and formulating standards and methodologies for addressing cyber threats. Such a holistic approach will foster trust, enhance security levels in the digital landscape, and guarantee the safe and efficient operation of processes," Pashinyan remarked.

According to Armstat, Armenia's trade turnover with EU nations reached around $6 billion in the first ten months of 2025, reflecting a 46.5% decline compared to the same timeframe in 2024. Armenian exports fell by 7.7% to $2.57 billion, while imports from the EAEU by exporting countries totaled $3.59 billion, marking a 58.3% decrease.-0-
