Armenia and Iran discuss expanding trade in oil products and developing gas supply infrastructure

YEREVAN, September 11. /ARKA/. Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan engaged in a meeting with Iranian Deputy Oil Minister Mohammad Sadeq Azimifar to explore further cooperation opportunities.

As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy, the discussions focused on expanding trade in oil and oil products, developing infrastructure for liquefied and natural gas supply, as well as joint investments in the energy sector and the effective utilization of regional transport and logistics hubs.

The Minister emphasized Armenia's interest in acquiring high-quality and competitively priced Iranian liquefied gas, which could serve as a foundation for long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation, thereby enhancing the country's energy security.

The meeting also included Deputy Ministers Narek Hovakimyan and Edgar Zakaryan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the IRI to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani, along with the Trade Attaché of Armenia in Iran, Hayk Nazaryan.-0-
