Armenian lawmakers to gather monday for extraordinary session

YEREVAN, November 26. /ARKA/. Samvel Nikoyan, acting speaker of Armenian National Assembly, signed a decree on Friday convening an extraordinary session initiated by the government.
The session will be held on Monday. Lawmakers will discuss 28 issues on the government-set agenda.
The bulk of the issues relate to amendments to tax laws.
About 60% of the amendments proposed by the government have already been discussed.
The government proposed to amend these laws to enlarge tax revenue by about AMD 100 billion, as it projected in the 2012 draft budget.
In particular, the government proposed to institute a luxury tax on expensive cars costing $90,000 and more, to increase taxes on expensive alcoholic drinks by 50%, to raise income tax for those individuals whose income exceeds AMD 2 million etc. ($1 – AMD 383.42). -0---
