The Investigative Committee of Armenia reports that criminal proceedings have been initiated against 29 of the 37 individuals previously detained for participating in the mass riots in Gyumri on October 20.
YEREVAN, October 23. /ARKA/. The Investigative Committee of Armenia reports that criminal proceedings have been initiated against 29 of the 37 individuals previously detained for participating in the mass protests in Gyumri on October 20.
They are accused of "participating in mass protests," "obstructing the lawful official or political activities of an official," and "obstructing the administration of justice or the investigation of a case."
According to the Investigative Committee, on October 20, a group of individuals obstructed investigative activities at Gyumri City Hall and at the entrances and exits of the building, as part of a criminal case conducted by the Anti-Corruption Committee.
According to the Investigative Committee, they demanded that the entrances to the administrative building of the community center be blocked to prevent the transportation of detainees, damaged police vehicles, and damaged the property of the community center. They also threw lighters and bottles at the police.-0-
