YEREVAN, March 30. /ARKA/. The American University of Armenia (AUA) announced it is transitioning to online instruction due to "Iran's threat against universities in Western Asia and the Middle East."

"Due to Iran's threat to target American universities in Western Asia and the Middle East, all classes on Monday, March 30, will be held entirely online," AUA said in a statement posted on the university's Facebook page.

The university administration notes that this is a precautionary measure and emphasizes that no direct threats have been received against the university and there are no indications of any danger, so there is no cause for concern.

It also states that this is a purely preventative measure taken out of an abundance of caution, as community safety is a priority.

AUA community members are encouraged to regularly check their emails and rely solely on official university communications for up-to-date information.

The university administration continues to closely monitor the situation and will inform of any changes to the schedule or instructional format, the statement added.

In response to a request from ARKA news agency, the university's press service declined to provide further comment, stating that all information was provided in the press release.
