The law introducing the compulsory medical insurance system in Armenia entered into force today; the number of beneficiaries of the first stage is 1.6 million, Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan announced at a government meeting on Thursday.
YEREVAN, December 25. /ARKA/. The law introducing the compulsory medical insurance system in Armenia entered into force today; the number of beneficiaries of the first stage is 1.6 million, RA Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan announced at a government meeting on Thursday.
At the meeting, the government approved the procedure for forming the insurance package and the lists of types of medical care and services subject to reimbursement (including co-financing) included in it. Model forms for contracts concluded with medical centers and pharmacies are also being established.
"The Law on Compulsory Medical Insurance was signed and published yesterday; only a few adjustments to the text are needed," Avanesyan noted.
According to her, a decision on the creation of a Health Insurance Fund will be made in the coming days, and the law establishes transitional points.
"Lists of services and medications available to our citizens under insurance are being established; they have been published on the updated ArMed platform," Avanesyan said.
