Three individuals suspected of online drug running detained in Yerevan

YEREVAN, June 6. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Investigative Committee reported detaining three individuals suspected of operating an online drug running network, selling drugs worth 231 million drams via Telegram.

According to the investigation, the three men purchased a large batch of different types of drugs and set up multiple dead drops across Yerevan. Photos and coordinates of the dead drops were later sold on Telegram between 2020 and 2023.

The suspects used crypto for their operations, also using e-wallets, as well as bank and betting shops accounts.

Additionally, one of the suspects reportedly purchased a custom 5.6 mm revolver and 79 bullets. All three were charged with various felonies, including illegal drug trafficking, illegal sale of firearms, and money laundering.
