Reservist killed by fire at one of Armenia's combat posts

A reservist Artur Grigoryan (born in 1985) died on February 6 at around 13:20  as a result of a fire that broke out under unknown circumstances in a small dwelling located near the combat position of a military unit, the Armenian Defense Ministry reported.

YEREVAN, February 7. /ARKA/. A reservist Artur Grigoryan (born in 1985) died on February 6 at around 13:20 as a result of a fire that broke out under unknown circumstances in a small dwelling located near the combat position of a military unit, the Armenian Defense Ministry reported.

The fire was localized and extinguished. There are no other casualties. An investigation is underway to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident, the ministry said.

Armenian privates, officers and warrant officers registered as first and second order reservists are called up for 2.5 month-log regular training and drills.

According to a government decision, the reservists are considered military personnel for the entire period of their participation in training assemblies. -0-
