Masked and armed men robbed Tuesday night the former head of a territorial tax inspectorate, shamshyan.com reports.
YEREVAN, November 8. /ARKA/. Masked and armed men robbed Tuesday night the former head of a territorial tax inspectorate, shamshyan.com reports.
The incident occurred in the town of Yeghvard in central Armenian province of Kotayk. According to the website, the masked robbers broke into the two-storey house of the 42-year-old Ara Stepanyan, using violence against him, his wife, mother and three minor children.
"The robbers beat up Stepanyan by batons and then threatening with firearms, took money, gold and silver jewelry and disappeared", - the report says.
A criminal case was opened under the article "robbery committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy".
According to shamshyan.com, Stepanyan, who was hospitalized after the attack, headed the tax office of Armavir province, and now works at the Compulsory Enforcement Service. The report notes that he is the owner of Panda supermarkets in Yeghvard.-0-
