Fire departments across Armenia equipped to fight possible fires
YEREVAN, July 13. /ARKA/. Fire departments across Armenia are technically ready and equipped to fight fires and if necessary, they will be aided by helicopters, Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations said today.
It said the fire departments have stepped up monitoring services to prevent possible fires, the risk of which has increased due to the very hot weather.
Emergency Situations Minister Armen Pamukchyan told his subordinates to strengthen cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, local governments and communities, to establish enhanced service in forest farms, nature reserves and other green areas. Special attention and importance must be paid to informing citizens.
According to the National Weather Service, Armenia's territory is still under the influence of heat waves arriving from the Arabian Peninsula.
Temperature will reach 39-42 degrees in Ararat Valley, Aragatsotn and Vayots Dzor foothills and the capital Yerevan in the coming days. --0--
