The World Bank expects Armenia's economy to grow by 5.3% in 2026 and 5.1% in 2027.
YEREVAN, April 8. /ARKA/. The World Bank expects Armenia's economy to grow by 5.3% in 2026 and 5.1% in 2027. This forecast is contained in the World Bank's Europe and Central Asia Economic Update (April 2026).
Compared to the previous report, released in January, the World Bank has improved its forecast for the current and next year by 0.4 percentage points.
The study notes that regional economic growth will slow to 2.1% in 2026. Growth in Russia is expected to slow to 0.8%, while growth in other regions is likely to slow to 2.9%, as consumption growth is constrained by rising energy prices and uncertainty impacts investment.
"A protracted and more intense conflict in the Middle East remains a key risk factor, potentially seriously disrupting global energy and fertilizer supplies, which could lead to a significant increase in energy and food prices and significantly slow regional economic growth," the report states.
